2023 Ford Transit Trail 148" Campervan Roof Rack (AC, Solar, Starlink) Setup
Переглядів 39814 днів тому
Below should be everything I did for the roof on my 2023 Ford Transit Trail 148” Campervan. I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Hardest part was probably mounting the AC. The studs were JUST BARELY long enough to mount the unit. I did email Hein at DIYVan and let him know. Luckily I had 3 roommates to help me throw it on. Definitely needed an extra hand a few other times. Roof rack wasn'...
Springville City Blocks Fire Department w/ a Carnival
Переглядів 23821 день тому
Springville city administration made the decision this year to move the carnival directly in front of the only active fire station in town. Not only is this illegal per state law (can't block a fire dept. driveway) but this now has decreased response times from our Fire & EMS. Seconds count on any emergency call and the city has opened itself up to a lawsuit with this asinine move. Unfortunatel...
Day 20 of 100 - Australian Shepherds are AWESOME
Переглядів 12228 днів тому
My dog Marley is the best dog. I love her to death and am greatful every day to have her. I remember when I was in college I couldn't WAIT to get my own dog. Marley comes from Canyon Creek Aussies and they are a great breeder to deal with. I highly recommend them for anyone interested in the top tier Australian Shepherds in the country. They are beautiful dogs, and they are incredible companion...

Day 18 of 100 - Saved a Bird's Life
Переглядів 16Місяць тому
Walking around at night with my dog Marley playing with the Osmo Pocket 3 nighttime video quality. It works quite well! Also saved a fledgling starling that was on the ground and would have been eaten by a cat. Still sick, hoping tomorrow I'm feeling LOTS better.

Day 14 of 100 - Unboxing my Gen 3 Starlink
Переглядів 62Місяць тому
Finally got my Starlink for the van. This thing is HUGE. A lot bigger than I expected. Shouldn't be a huge issue but just cuts down quite a bit on the solar panels I can have on the roof.

Переглядів 133Місяць тому
Drove the van soon after I got it out to Tennessee to get a build kit from Moxie Van Co in Chattanooga. It was a super fun trip and the 2023 Ford Transit Trail did great. Marley (my dog) did amazing too, I am very much looking forward to the van being DONE so I can go live on the beach for the summer!

Rescuing a Golden Eagle near Delta, Utah
Beautiful.
I have a 17 350 el hr with a 4.10 rear posi. rr bearing went out quickly. They replaced it. Always had some noise in it. I finally concluded it was the 90w gear oil. Drained it pulled the diff cover and cleaned it. Replaced with 85-140 and the bottle of additive. No more issues.
You crushed it. I would put a cerbo gx in there to connect it all and utilize the VictronConnect and monitoring.
I was always told u should put switches on the negative side for large loads prevents arcing. Also larger the cable less voltage loss. Also its always wise to have in line fuses between batteries. Fuses are to protect the wire not the device typically
Your charge controllers are very tight, and close to flammable items. Not trying to be that guy, just to help. You’ll need 2 cooling fans at a min Your inverter is also close to the bottom=less air flow You need (2) 0/4 pos and neg at the inverter, or (2) 0/1 cables. All 6 batteries together is fine also. Contact RvSolarConnections for the best advise and products. Ask for Caza (tell him Apex Conversion sent you)
Can I recommend to everyone who is contemplating doing powerful setups, to get their hands on a thermal camera. You will be surprised how revealing they are. From low quality cables, to loose bolts and nuts, and even poorly crimped terminals. For you system, try to let the heat out of that space to the left, where the fan will be blowing the air through the inverter. From experience, shorten and transfer that inverter cable to the very right hand terminal of the right hand Lynx distributor. You'd like it as close to the shunt terminal as possible. Big cable next to big cable when you can. You have it going the whole length of those distributors in the current configuration. This will reduce the resistance as much as possible. 3000 watts divided by 13 volts (lithium based voltage) becomes 230 amps. Remove one of the 2/0 cables from the inverter to Lynx distributor. Run something powerful from the inverter, and check the cabling with a thermal camera. If there is a lot of heat after a minute, you need to check the bolt tightness and if no change, replace the removed cable. You may have lower quality cable installed and not know it. Be aware that the colors on a thermal camera are a guide. Use the actual temperature numbers, to determine the difference between items of interest. There may be small changes in temperature relating to alarming color differences unnecessarily. It will depend on the camera calibrating itself on the fly as you use it. Let me know if you want more help. This is a long post already.

Since you mentioned Nate, he has wiring size and fuse calculators on his website. Never hurts to have oversized wiring. He may be willing to assist you if you reach out to him, he troubleshoots systems at rallies, etc.
I've had sprinters, and several promasters..no different with any of them. Good and bad...there were recalls on all of them. Bought a trail & so far, so good 🤞...The front tire rub is a big fat F for ford. I doubt Ford will do anything to compensate or figure a fix...time will tell
nice van! thanks for sharing and the links
You should look into AVC Rig for your interior. They are great guys and much closer then TN!
You just added an xtra 40+ lbs on a door - it's going to have movement - might be able to adjust the striker and get a little movement out - but it may affect the alignment
Get a new door. Or buy a actual truck. None problem solved 👌
Rear diff is a common issue since 2016
Watch an even better one. “Addicted in Afghanistan” made in 2002 when US invaded and there is 8-10 yr old Afghan kids doing heroin.
Ive seen it, or something similar, from the same source. Very little suprizes me anymore. Their documentaries are good though, raw
Hi. Im have the same problem in right knee. I am a runner. I need this Surgery. How are you knee now? Thanks good bless you
You are american , america is at its height of opioid addiction. I can recomend a few documentaries. Americans obsession with highlighting negative things in other parts of the world like drug addiction is ripping your society apart
Am i the only one who thought it was going to be a documentary by a white journalist working for al-jazeera doing opium in kabul for 100 days to find out how dangerous it really is and shed light on the public health crisis in afghanistan? I guess its just me. Anyways, good work and stay off drugs kids....
I always think Afghanistan is not just another country it is in many ways another world in itself
No idea why you pop up in my feed but please keep doing what you are doing you have relighten a spark for me. Thanks man , keep going ! Peace Digi
May God bless you, dear channel owner. I wish you beautiful coming days full of happiness and delights, greetings.
Other worldly like kensington. Kensington, Philadelphia, has long since been a place of lost souls-a “Zombie Land.” The Lower Northeast Community is overrun by individuals who have fallen into a life of substance abuse.27 Nov 2023
Just wondering if u had any issues with the trail specifically the lift (clearance) and suspension? I watched two videos comparing an after market lift verses the one the trail comes with and one uplifter calls it a "Piss Poor lift" Curious yr perspective as an owner. Thanks
You owe me in-n-out
Cooliooo
Nice. Do u have any hawking videos u plan to upload??
Keep going
It was an amazing documentary
Yah rehab he’ll that was a great video
Nice ride! Is that a full size spare on the back of your van? Which rim and tire did you use?
Can you mount inside??
no :( can't have anything blocking the panel.
So neat!
Buy my Goal Zero foldable panels
Bruh 😂
Unfortunate. Hope things improve.
I tried to join the Facebook group, but I won’t let you join .what up with that?
From my daughter's experience with her Ford Focus, I can tell you that groups and complaints on forums will have little impact on Ford. Unfortunately, she didn't do her research prior to buying the car. Had she, she would have found that there were several global class-action lawsuits against Ford for the Focus. Ford, and other manufacturers, will delay as much as they can hoping the consumer either gives up or the warranty period runs out. Fortunately, she kept detailed records of all the issues and visits to the dealer. She followed the lemon law process in California, not surprisingly, Ford denied her claim. She hired an attorney and sued Ford; Ford filed an answer to the complaint and it went to trial. She won, Ford had to pay her attorney thousands in legals fees and refund my daughter. I suggest you research the lemon laws in your state and document all of your issues. The dealerships are not your friend, they'll feed you lines of bullshit and hope you go away. Good luck.
Beauty! And the scenery is great too
You’re so cool
Haha horizon like a sunset fool 😂
So sorry you are going through this. It's crazy. Luckily we dodged the bullet. After waiting for our Trail for over 8 months, we threw in the towel, got our refundable deposit back, and bought a Mercedes 2022 4x4 (new). We love it! We just finished the build and we're back on the road. I hope all of these issues get resolved to your satisfaction. We have friends with Transits and love them, so I hope Ford comes through for you and you end up with a van you love. Hang in there!
Are the seats comfortable for long-distance driving? The 2023 Ford Transit Connect Cargo seats are hard like you are sitting on concrete.
They are great. I read some thing when I was shopping around that someone mentioned they could drive all day long in the leather seats and so I made that option a priority. Luckily I was able to find one with them and I’m very glad I got them. Unfortunately, the leather seats were discontinued Last year.
Someone did a video about the Trail and compared the "piss poor" lift to an after-market lift to a regular Ford commercial van someone can have done. I guess Ford put out the Trail just to make money off of the van life boom. smh
False advertising and a fake lift to fit bigger tires the problem is the tire clearance that's why the tires are rubbing. The solution is not smaller tires. Ford should refund the trail package 12k to customers.
Nerd 😂
Great jorb
Holla! Haha
Neat
❤
Did you get speakers in the back door?
Yes, there is a option to have rear speakers and mine has them
You make a good point about having all the things but still feeling stuck. Same here. You can have everything in the world, but it's nothing when you've lost inspiration. At least for me it feels that way. I'm moving into van life for very similar reasons as you - and I'll be in a Transit, too. Keep it real like this and you'll go far.
